Medical Motor Service takes seniors to centers where they
enjoy a hot meal, friendship, all sorts of recreational and educational
activities, and access to health and social services. As a passenger, you
can expect a friendly smile, warm greeting, door-to-door escort, and extra
assistance if needed.
If you are sixty years or older (or a spouse of any age) and live within a specific target area of your senior center, check with your neighborhood center to find out if you are eligible for Medical Motor Service transportation.
The Monroe County Office For The Aging covers most of your travel costs. The small donation we request helps to defray our expenses and keep the service financially viable.
Medical Motor Service also transports senior citizens to medical adult day care programs and social day care programs throughout the community. These services enable an older person to remain in their own home through community and social supports. The transportation is provided for both ambulatory persons and those who use wheelchairs and the fees are based upon income. Third Party sources such as Medicaid also reimburses the medical day care transportation services. Certain other programs subsidize social day care transportation. Referrals and trip ordering is done through the respective Adult Day Care Program.
